Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Mohs Micrographic Surgery, or Mohs, is a unique surgery technique used to treat skin cancer. This surgery is performed by a trained Mohs Surgeon. Benefits of Mohs surgery include a high cure rate and the ability for the surgeon to keep as much healthy skin as possible. The surgeon is able to do that by examining the skin tissue removed throughout the procedure under a microscope. He is then able to see where the skin cancer cells stop, therefore only removing the unhealthy tissue.
Mohs surgery is often recommended for patients with a Basel Cell Carcinoma or a Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
Mohs procedures are performed on Fridays in our Novi office location by Dr. A. Edward Abrou.
